As currently planned, the study will be performed in a multi-floor shared ventilation system building in order to assess the dispersion and migration path of the vapors throughout the designated building’s multi-floor shared ventilation system. This study will also assess the migration path of the vapor to various areas around the building. The anticipated results will allow Dr. McAuley and his team to fill a very large existing data gap in current scientific literature which will provide direct evidence to better understand (i) any alleged potential risks to people living in shared ventilation system buildings and (ii) whether or not concern is warranted regarding exposures to residences of non-electronic cigarette users that may living in close proximity to users and concerned over potential exposures through shared ventilation systems.
The remaining funds for the research study will be raised by various industry leader sponsors, consumer donations, and attendee support for Miami Vapefest 2015 which will be held on September 18 and 19, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in Miami, Florida. A special, interactive panel of experts has been assembled for Miami Vapefest in order to address current legislative hot topics on both the federal and state level and this panel will be convened midday on September 18 during Vapefest Miami. Sponsorship of the event is welcomed as is public attendance of adults over 18 years of age.
